Two weeks ago, I
got a phone call from the grandmother taking care of her grandchildren from
North Korea. “Teacher, do you have any bike? My boy is crying with tears to buy
one.”
I hung up the
phone with no promise to buy a bike but to look for it. So I posted the story
on the secret group in my facebook.
Then, there seemed
to be no likes or no tags, but I got a message for a teacher of Baejae High
school that he wants to buy one for the kid. But I replied to him that it is
not good to buy a new bike to a boy who is crying with tears. Then the next
day, vice-president of our board committee told me to send a used but good bike
by quick delivery. So, I delivered it again to the grandmother.
Then, on the last
Saturday, one of Happy Move crews told me to bring a bike if I need one. I
think whenever I needed something, I posted on facebook and I got it.
One more thing. We
are running Saturday school throughout the year. It was very heavy-burdened for
me to match many multi-cultural children with high school volunteers as well as
to supervise classes, including study class, piano lesson and art class.
So, I have dreamed
of a competent volunteer who can supervise classes. Then at last she came to
me. She is a mother who has helped us with her son, middle school boy. As she
regularly came to Saturday school, I had asked her to help me this or that. And
now she took over the management of classes instead of me as well as matching
people and selecting text books. She is so wonderful!
And she gave us a
box of anthelmintic and distributed it to every multi-cultural mothers by the
number of family member. She told us that her husband is running a pharmacy
store. We really were in need of anthelmintic, without which we cannot keep our
health.
Happy Move Crew has
served for the past eight years, so now we have more adults working for the company.
