<A Story about Saturday School>

At dawn it stopped raining and today we are going to start our art therapy class of summer vacation. The art therapy class started at 11:00, dividing it into three classes for mothers, kindergarten kids and elementary children. Six voluntary high school students joined in classes as well as professional teachers to lead the classes.

Mothers especially favor this art therapy class, because of the teacher who is competent and warm-hearted. Mothers mostly came from Vietnam, and one of them came alone to this class even though her children could not come together because of school’s camp. She said art class is fun and brightens her heart.

After this art therapy class, we are having Gimbob as lunch, and participate in the program of Saturday school. Every child who comes to this Saturday school participates in such programs as piano lesson, art play, and study coaching in turn. As of today, we started a new semester and twenty students helped in the afternoon as part-time volunteers. After Saturday school, we had the time of Happy Move Mentoring Party from 3:00 p.m., making “transparent umbrella” while mothers making some decorations with dried flowers.

It is a kind of rule to send a photo of an event to the PR department of the company whose donation made it possible to have that event. The staffs of Happy Move worried about how to take a photo and they decided to exclude children and moms but to take a photo of Happy Move staffs with smiles of thanks to the donating company. What a great idea to take care of multi-cultural families, which must come from long experiences of serving people with multi-cultural sensitivity and profound love. Many thanks to all volunteering students and Happy Move staffs all day long.
